はじめに
地球は、太陽等と共に、一千億もの星で構成される天の川銀河の
中にあり、そういう銀河が数え切れないほどあって、宇宙はさら
に拡大しているそうです。始まりは百三十八憶年前くらい。宇宙
の「宇」の文字は広さを表し、「宙」は長い時間を表すとのこと。
星空を眺め宇宙を思えば、人の悩みや苦しみが、いくらかは些細
に思われてきます。
仏教ですが、二千五百年ほど前、お釈迦さまがお弟子さんに教え
た阿弥陀如来の世界も、とても広大な世界のようです。
書店には、阿弥陀如来の世界を心に描けば、安らかな思いに、と
述べる書籍が多くあります。
頼りに折々に読んできました。
また、お寺さんが、読経と学習会の機会を用意してくださいます。
感謝と幸せから、小さな冊子にしました。
Jodo Shinshu may be called the Japanese Pure Land
Buddhist, which was established by Shinran Shonin
1173-1262.
Buddism is separated into over ten sects. Jodo Shinshu
is one sect of these sects.
Shinran Shonin wrote hymn and explained truth which he
established Shinran is his name. Shonin is an honorific
title who is respected, true specialist of religion.
He said that people are relieved by Amidasama.
Amidasam is the principal representation of Buddha.
Amidasama keeps immeasurable life and immeasurable
Light from his birth till now, future.
The stature and paintings are decorated in many temples
and our house all over Japan.
We recite the name of Amida Buddha. Amidasama grasps
followers. and never abandon them.
Amidasma guides us into Pure Land. We call Pure Land
Jodo.
It is the country of a clean and pure land. There are no
sufferings or no pains. Mild wind is blowing throughout
year．Many flowers are in bloom. many birds are singing.
Seven eminent were in India, China and Japan from
3 century to 13 century. Shinran studied what they left
Rennyo Shonin(1415-1499) was the eighth Abbot of Jodo
Shinshu.
He wrote followers letters in easy Japanese. Many Japanese
became followers all over Japan.
Jodo Shinshu teaches us both potentials and limitations in
the world.
This teaching will help us to overcome difficulties and realize
true happiness of our life.
